I followed the instructions for setting up Outlook to download my live mail - but it keeps redownloading the same e-mails over and over again from the server.  I put them in my deleted e-mail folder - but it justdownloads them again.

Help!!!

@Carrie beeson:

Can you post your e-mail address here, so I can check on it?

Thanks.

I have the same problem.

The outlook keeps downloading the same e-mails so now it is very hard to delete them when you have 1000 emails - you have to delete page by page.

Ocassionally I had this problem even with the old version of the Outlook, but it didn't bother me because the old Outlook would not multiply them.

Another problem is that you cannot have multiple inboxes -- you have to switch identities or switch the e-mail account.

I don't like at all the new version I will move to google mail because has multiple inboxes and has no problems.

@ AdrianM

We appreciate your taking the time to send us your thoughts about Windows Live Hotmail. We take feedback about Windows Live Hotmail product and service very seriously.

Anyway, let us know the following info so we can fully investigate the issue on downloading multiple messages:

- What’s your Hotmail e-mail address?
- Does it happen all the time?
- Have you selected the “Leave a copy of messages on the server” option?
- Can you give us permission to access your account? This will help us speed up the troubleshooting process. Please visit:

http://windowslivehelp.com/solutions/newvisitor/archive/2009/06/22/things-to-do-before-granting-access-to-your-account-to-support-agents.aspx

Also, when you use POP3 to access multiple accounts, you’ll only have one Inbox for all. You may want to create sub-folders in MS Outlook and Message rules to direct your messages to them.

I am also having this issue on 2 of my hotmail accounts.  I setup the Pop3 settings in Outlook and keep having the emails download multiple times.  How do I resolve this?

@ dolci32

Let me know the following info so I can fully investigate:

- What are your e-mail addresses?
- Is it happening every time?
- Is “Leave a copy of messages on the server” option enabled?
- Send us the pop log file generated by your e-mail client. You can ask the support team of your e-mail client on how to get this.

For assistance, I suggest you visit the Solution article on How to get support for your non-Hotmail Products (http://windowslivehelp.com/solutions/newvisitor/archive/2009/02/04/how-to-get-support-for-your-non-hotmail-products.aspx) and then, click on the link beside the type of e-mail client you’re using (Microsoft Outlook 2007 or Outlook Express 6.0).

Also, check out the Private Data below to know how to send the file to us.

1. The first one is: {removed email address}, I don't remember the other one at this moment.

2. Yes, the redownloads happens everytime until I remove the account from Outlook.  Once the final email is downloaded, the download immediately begins again.

3. Leave a copy is left checked and I have it set to delete once I delete.

4. I have no idea how to generate the pop log, and hotmail is the email, so wouldn't you be able to help me with figuiring out how to do that?

I look forward to your additional help.

I am having similiar problems to those outlined in this thread. My outlook seems to periodically redownload my whole mail box using POP3. I do not know what triggers this nor do i understand why it stops.

Please help!!
