russr72, have you checked your Hotmail account’s signature? Since you mentioned that the message appears when replying or composing a new e-mail message, it’s possible that the message was set up as your signature. You can follow these steps to remove the message from your signature:

1. Sign in to your Hotmail account at http://mail.live.com
2. Click Options on the upper right corner of your account then click More options.
3. Under Customize your mail, click Personal e-mail signature.
4. Wait for the page to load then delete the message displayed in the box.
5. Click Save.

Moving on, although I cannot confirm how the message was set up as your signature, I recommend that you follow these safety measures to keep your account secured:

1. Use different characters on your password, and regularly update your secret question and answer.

2. Log out from your account every after your session by clicking the Sign out link.

3. Clear your browser’s temporary Internet files when using a public terminal.

4. Be sure not to click the Remember my password option at the Hotmail Sign In page.

One of my friends just told me that they got a spam email from my hotmail address advertising sell-good.com:

Dear friend:

how are you doing recently ? I would like to introduce you a very good company which i knew. They can offer you all kinds of electronical products which you need, such as motorcycles, laptops, mobile phones, digial cameras, TV LCD, xbox, ps3, gps, MP3/4, etc. Please take some time to have a look at it,there must be something you'd like to purchase.
Their website:
sell-good.com

Hope you have a good mood in shopping from their company!

I checked my inbox and discovered several identical messages that had bounced back... this message had been sent to all of my contacts, even though there were no copies of the emails in my 'sent' folder.  I changed my password and security questions but I want to know if this was a worm or what?  Do I need to shut my account down? Will it happen again?

Any insight is appreciated.

I noticed the other day I recieved an e mail from myself.  Also all my contacts recieved an e mail from me about a website called shopping 333.  Now anytime i write an e mail the ad for this company appears under the message i write and can not be erased.  What can I do to fix this?

The issue is still ongoing.  The same spam was sent from my Hotmail account recently.  However, I have no signature, no vacation replies, no sent mail.  Since the account is not used that much I deleted the contact list so there's no one to get spammed.  I have Bitdefender and Windows Defender installed, use Firefox with NoScript and everything is up-to-date.  Further, after scans by more than one antivirus product, more than one antimalware and antispyware product and HijackThis, my computer is clean.  And the final insult:  I am unable to change my password as whenever I try the screen flashes by to:

There's a temporary problem

There's a temporary problem with the service. Please try again. If you continue to get this message, try again later.

What's going on???????
