Hello,

Appreciate everyone taking the time to report the issues and for providing us with the information that moderators are requesting for. Product group is using this information to create hotfixes for the issues reported by the customers.
Please note that even though we have not been able to respond to each and every customer post individually, we have taken note of these issues.
We will be making broad updates as we have new workarounds or fixes related to the issues. Please keep an eye on the latest sticky post that we have in the Hotmail forum on this topic.

These are the supported browsers in new Hotmail:
Internet Explorer 6.0+ on Windows
Internet Explorer 6.x
Internet Explorer 7.x
Internet Explorer 8.x (Standards mode)
Firefox 3.0+ on Windows and Macintosh
Safari 4.0+ on Windows and Macintosh
Chrome on Windows – latest major version

If you are using Safari 3 or Firefox 2, please upgrade your browser to be able to use the New Hotmail.

If you are having problems viewing your messages or composing an e-mail after your account was upgraded to the new Hotmail, kindly post your answers to the following questions:

1. What is the exact issue that you encountered?
2. Do you encounter the same issue if you access your account using a different browser on your computer?
3. Do you encounter the same issue when you are using another computer with a different Internet connection?
4. Do you see any script errors on the lower left corner of your browser screen?

If this happens only on your computer or browser, we suggest to optimize your browser. Check this article for instructions for IE:

If you’re using a browser other than Internet Explorer, please visit its Help section.

Thanks!

I am told -
Please refresh your browser window. When you access your Windows Live Hotmail account from more than one computer, we ask you to sign in again to help keep your account private and secure.

1 I am unable to look at any email or folder.
2 I am only permitted to use IE8 at work.
3 The problem is only on my work computer, my home one is fine. At work they do not allow me to update or access my internet options so your link to a help article does not solve my problem.

Please advise how to circumnavigate the problems this new upgrade design has caused.

Thank you

Hi,  2 of my email addresses have been completly paralysed by your new 'upgrades'. I can now barely log in, cant delete any messages, cant compose messages, signing out takes forever. I do not want social networking message options, or ultra rich test clipboards to type emails on i just want to be able to check my email and send messages. Why cant you ask people if they want to upgrade rather than just doing it for them without any choice? I have a slow internet connection and have my email set to light..can you please change my email settings back to how they were before? otherwise my accounts are going to be virtually useless..

I do not want to have to upgrade my browser. My browser is fine. i just want to accsess my email and dont want a million options i will never use. the affected emails are {removed email address}   and {removed email address}

Many thanks

1.  I can access, open, and read my e-mails, but when I attempt to reply or compose a new e-mail I cannot type in the message box.  If it is a reply, the original message disappears.  If it is a new message, I can enter the address and subject and when I tab to or click on the message area an outline box appears around the area, but disappears when I start to type.  Nothing appears when I type.

2.  I encounter this problem with both Firefox and Safari on my laptop.

3.  I do not encounter this problem on my newer Intel desktop mac.  I think the problem is I am running an older version of the browser, but I cannot upgrade because my systems software  OS X 10.3.9 will not support the newer versions of Safari and Firefox.  I cannot use Internet Express for the same reason.  I can understand the advantages of the new Windows Live mail program, but you really need to have something that we can access on older, still very usable computers and platforms.

Thanks.

I am having the same issues that everyone else here is having.  I can get into my inbox but I can't view any of the emails that are in my inbox.  I am using Internet Explorer and tried to go through the steps in the link above, but it still has not helped.  Please tell me what else I need to do.

Thanks,
Melissa

I clean out my cookies and stuff but dont really want to start messing with my security settings that all worked fine for the past few years.Report as Abuse

I'm having the same problems too. I can sign in but can't access folders or open or manage my emails.
I've followed the clean up instructions as much as possible but its not made any difference.

Ever since the upgrade, when I sign in to my hotmail account I see that I have messages and can see who they are from, but cant view them. When I click to view the email, it does nothing.

I see the following message above my Inbox/email: "We can't connect to Windows Live Hotmail from Qwest right now. Please try again later"
I use Windows Internet Explorer 7 & 8.

*The upgrade does not seem to effect your mobile app via iphone/ipad.Report as Abuse
