Contact stolen

I noticed today that somehow someone sent emails from my account to everyone in my contacts, and now my contacts are gone.  How much of my information is compromised?  What do I need to do to stop it from happening again?  Do I have to shut down my acccount and make a new one?  I changed my password, but is that enough?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

If you suspect that an unauthorized person has used your Windows Live ID to sign into your Windows Live Hotmail account deleted your contacts and sent an message to all your contacts, please read the articles on the following links for further help.

If you'd like to recover your contacts, please provide at least three sample email addresses that were deleted from your account for confirmation purposes.

This all seemed to happen after I recieved this email that was addressed from myself to myself, but I did not send it:

Hi Karia!

I tried to recover your lost contacts in our Support Control Panel. I am unable to restore them back to your account's Contacts list and you need to manually add them back.

I’d like to let you know that I am glad that upon verification, the three (3) contacts that you provided were all successfully recovered! I’ve already sent the contacts via email using the WLSC test account. Don’t’ reply to the email since it is an unmonitored mailbox.

Note: The contacts that were not included in the list of recovered contacts can no longer be retrieved.
