To make a video call you need to connect your webcam and it has to be detected in your computer. You can view your contact and talk to your contact at the same time when you make a video call.
Note : You will find a webcam icon appearing towards the left of the conversation window if your webcam is detected.
Pre-requisites:
- Windows XP or higher operating system
- Ensure you are connected to the internet
- Webcam is detected
- Make sure that your microphone is connected to your computer and it’s not muted
Here is how you can make a call to your contact:
- Sign in to Windows Live Messenger
- Initiate conversation with the contact with whom you are trying to make a video call
- In the conversation window, click on “Video” Menu. This option will display your webcam to your contact and sends an invite to your contact to accept to invite.
- Once your contact accepts your invite, both the parties can view each other (provided if you contact has a webcam too) and can talk using your headphone or using your computer sound.
To make a video call; you simply need to initiate conversation with your contact and click on “call” from the menu to initiate the call.
