FYI, if you've set Outlook 2003 to NOT leave copy of messages on the server, the same messages that you've downloaded in your client will be moved to the Deleted folder of your account in Web. This means that you can still try to recover those messages from the Deleted folder, and move them back to your Inbox. If they're no longer in the Deleted folder, it's unlikely that you'll be able to recover them.

Still, I’ve engaged additional resources to help retrieve the messages but unfortunately, the restoration failed.
when we checked it the next day it looks like it dumped her sent items in her inbox and didnt get any of her received items
Please contact the support team of Outlook 2003 for assistnace on this one. Here’s the link to their support site:

Just please take note though that we can only restore those that are still in the server. I’ve applied the backend fix to your account and moved those that I was able to retrieve to your Inbox. For those that are still missing, I’m sorry.

After taking a look into our records, it shows that you are using an e-mail client using POP3 access.

If you're Inbox messages are being deleted, then that means that your E-mail Client has the "Leave Copy of Messages to Server" disabled.

Please switch this option on to resolve this.

Thanks

Re: trying again re lost emails; can't find first post

Hi zurisgranny,

FYI, E-mail clients have an "Archiving" feature where the program removes messages from your profile (mostly your Inbox) and then stores them to a separate message data store. This may have happened to you and your messages may be simply archived into your harddrive.

Messages that are no longer in your Inbox or Deleted folder may be unrecoverable. Unfortunately, since you are using a program that takes actions that we cannot control, we have no way to help you get these messages back.

You can contact the support team of the e-mail client you're using and ask them how to access the Message Data Store so you can recover your messages.

Also, make sure that your mobile settings also have the "Leave Copy of Messages to server" enabled.

Just a note, the separate set of folders you used to have will no longer appear once you configure your account using the POP3 protocol. This is by design in POP3 settings. This is the reason why you can find them in your Mac Mail. All folders will remain available when you check your account through the web.

Re: All emails and contacts gone

hello Drmickeymike!

Thanks for posting your account.
I also checked your account and found that your messages are intact.

I have also checked some additional records and have found out that you may have an Internet Security and/or Anti-Virus software’s installed. Parts of this Software Suite are Spam Killers.

After investigating your account, our records show that you’re using a program or something similar that can remove messages from our servers to your computer or to your Deleted folder.

From the information we have received, I can offer the following recommendations:

 1. Move the messages from your Deleted folder to a personal folder. Moving these message back to your Inbox could result in them being moved back to the Deleted folder again. This step will help prevent them from being moved back to the Deleted folder.

 2. For information about configuration changes that can help prevent loss of messages, see the "Help" help information for the program that you using.

 3. Contact the manufacturer of your Internet Security and/or Anti-Virus program for help preventing loss of e-mail. If you cannot find messages in your Inbox or Deleted folder, look for other folders to which the messages may have been moved by the e-mail program and see if your messages are recoverable.

Now, we can't forward info about an account to their users since this will be a violation of the Electronic Communications Privacy Act of 1986 (ECPA).

Additionally, we can't recover folders.

Thanks
