Your account appears to be working properly. In order for us to further investigate, provide us a screenshot of the page showing “Marked Unsafe.” Here’s how:

1. Open the e-mail you’re having trouble with and then press the “PrintScreen” (PrintScrn) button on the keyboard.
2. Open MS Paintbrush. To do this, click “Start,” then “All programs,” and then click “Accessories.”
3. Click “Paint.”
4. Click “Edit,” and then click “Paste.” The screenshot is pasted on your program.
5. Click “File,” and then click “Save as.”
6. Under Save as Type, select “JPEG.”
7. Name the file, and then save the file on the desktop.

If you marked the message in your Junk folder as unsafe, this means that the message in question has been deleted from your account. Nevertheless, I’ve tried to recover deleted messages in your account. You can check your Junk folder to view the retrieved messages.

However, if you marked the message in question as safe, this means that the message has only been moved to your Inbox folder. You can use Hotmail’s Search feature to find the missing message in your Inbox folder.

Re: Can you retrieve email tagged as 'phishing'?

Hi there!

This is where our Sender ID does its work.

You can determine this from the full headers of the message you received, if the IPs are consistent or not. Right-click on the e-mail from your message list and then choose View message source to see its full headers. Please confirm with your sender as well if he or she is really directly sending these marked messages from his or her own e-mail address.

Re: Recover email marked unsafe in my junk folder

I need to know your e-mail address so I can check if the message can still be recovered.

Sorry, I didn't say. The forum has it's own dedicated i.p. and is not sending as if from elsewhere. Only sends to current members on his own forum. There are spammers using the admin address to spoof though.

[/quote]

I see the importance of being able to removed the notification in your incoming messages, specifically the email you received from a forum but as mentioned by Jordan, the warning or the Windows Live Hotmail Safety Bar would continue to appear.

Sender ID is the technology behind the Windows Live Hotmail Safety Bar. Most of the time, Sender ID notification is visible if the message is sent from a 3rd party service, i.e. e-greeting cards, news website, forum and then clicking on the “e-mail this article to a friend”, etc.

Sender ID identifies this as "spoofed" e-mail address, since Sender ID was unable to verify the supposedly sender of the message against the e-mail server where the message actually passed.

For more information about Sender ID, visit the following Web site:

http://www.microsoft.com/mscorp/safety/technologies/senderid/default.mspx
http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/features/2004/oct04/10-25SenderID.mspx

The email I receive is from a forum. The actual email address does get 'spoofed' however, they have an SPF record set up and I would have thought that this would suffice for hotmail to be able to determine if it's a spoof email or not.

It gets pretty tiresome seeing all the warnings on the email andI woud like to know what either I or the owner of the forum can do to help rectify the problem.

Re: lost emails.please help

Hi tarni,
