Our records show that your account was marked "Inactive". This is the reason why you lost your stored messages. Once the account contents have been deleted, they cannot be recovered. I'm sorry!

To know more about our Inactivity policy, please visit the solution post below:
http://windowslivehelp.com/solutions/settings/archive/2009/03/13/how-to-close-your-hotmail-account.aspx

Re: Deleted Everything

@ fallingstar

Your Windows Live Hotmail account will be marked as inactive if you do not access it for more than 270 days. It may be permanently deleted if it remains inactive for an additional 90 days.

This information is available in MSFT Roopa S’ Solution Article created “How to close your Hotmail account”. To view the article, please access the link below.

I’ve checked your account and verified that it was previously marked as inactive. This is why you lost all the messages on your account. I regret to inform that there’s no way to retrieve messages deleted from an inactive accounts since they’re removed permanently from the system. If accounts are inaccessible for more than 270 days, the system automatically flags the account as inactive.

To avoid this from happening again, try saving your important messages as files on your local computer. E-mail clients like Windows Live Mail will create offline folders for your messages. To get Windows Live Mail, please go to http://download.live.com

We would also like to encourage you to try SkyDrive so you could upload the messages you have saved on your computer and have an option to view them when you are using different computer. For more information about Skydrive please follow these links:

Sorry, but we can't recover anything from your account anymore.

When an account is made inactive, all messages in the account are deleted and can no longer be recovered. Hotmail accounts are put flagged as inactive if they are not accessed at least once for 270 consecutive days at http://mail.live.com (Messenger does not count).
