Aside from adding the sender to your Contacts list, I suggest that you add the sender’s e-mail address to your account’s Safe senders list. Just to be sure, you should also check whether the sender’s e-mail address is not included in the Blocked senders list.

To learn how to add an e-mail address to the Safe senders and for instructions on how to remove one from the Blocked senders list, please check out MSFT Roopa S’ Solution Article “Not receiving e-mail from contacts”. Expiration of Accounts: Is there any setting to control this? There are cases wherein a few associates won't login to this for a few months so in this case can I as the domain admin make sure that these IDs do not expire and stay active[/quote]There’s no setting to control this. All you need to do is to access your mailbox ones every 270 days and sign in within the first 10 days after signing up for an account. Unless, you're paid subscriber which is exempted from account inactivity.

Re: Safe List

If you just move those e-mails in your Inbox, their senders will not be entered in your Safe list, but if you marked them as "safe," their senders will be entered there. My friends e-mail address is at wowway.com.

My friend gets a message back saying taht I have blocked them. But I haven't--as far as I can tell by looking at my blcoked senders list.

Suggestions?

Re: Safe Senders moved to Blocked list by themselves.

@ Amosguy

E-mail addresses can only be moved from Safe senders list to Blocked senders list manually.

If you’re still having problem in receiving messages, let me know the following info so I can fully investigate:

- Your Hotmail e-mail address
- The e-mail address of the sender
- The date and time you last received a message from this sender or domain
- Send a test message to the concerned sender and ask him/ her to reply. Confirm if you’re able to receive his/ her reply.
- Confirm if other Hotmail users can’t receive from the same sender.
- If the sender received a failure of delivery notification, post an unedited copy here.

FYI: I’ve moved your post here at the Mail Delivery forum.

Safe list filter does not work

Exclusive - Everything is sent to the junk e-mail folder except messages from your contacts and safe senders, Windows Live Hotmail service announcements, and alerts that you signed up for.

yet much, much junk mail continues to come into my inbox that is not on my safe list nor contact list. The filter does not work.

To troubleshoot your receiving issue, I need to know your Hotmail account as well as your senders' e-mail addresses.

For your inability to move these messages, try to drag and drop them to your Inbox.
