I hate when I get these ">" in a letter forwarded to me or replied to me.  How can I stop this from happening.

Hi! This is something that you can't do anything on your end because the reply/forward separator that you're seeing is dependent on your sender. You can ask your sender to stop using this feature on their end so you won't see this on your messages.

Yes but it happens even if I send the reply to myself!  I can't figure out how to turn it off in Hotmail - that is the question I'm really asking.

This happens when you have previosuly set your account to use “>” as the reply separator. Since this option has been removed, we can no longer change your account’s settings.

It was removed to improve the performance or features in Hotmail. However, I understand the importance of your concern. I will submit this issue to our Product Development Team as a feature request.

With all due respect, I'm getting quite annoyed with your robotic responses regarding this issue. Every article I read about the Reply Separator (>>) suggests that Microsoft removed the abilty to disable this 'feature' due to customer feedback and as a performance issue on your behalf.

 

What a load of garbage!!!

 

Show me a single email of anyone actually wanting to see >>>>> all over their email responses, and I'll apologise unreservedly - it is ugly, unprofessional and downright annoying.

 

And as far as saying over and over again that these public outcrys are being sent to your Hotmail Engineering Teams for review... I doubt that as well.

 

Can't you see that people HATE >>>>>!!!  No other client forces you to use them - NOT EVEN OUTLOOK.
