E-mail clients have “archiving” features that move your messages from the Windows Live Hotmail e-mail server to your hard disk. The Windows Live Hotmail server may be unable to recover the messages you have downloaded from it as they are now stored in your email client program. Once downloaded, the e-mail messages will no longer show up on the Windows Live Hotmail Web interface. For more information on viewing your messages using your e-mail client, please contact your email client’s support team.
For this issue not to happen again, you will need to make sure that the "Leave a copy of the message on the server" option on your email client settings is selected. To do this, please refer to the Help section of your email client program or the your email client's support group.
