This new version does not suit me with the popup garbage on the right side and impossible reading functions (downloading every photo sent etc). I am confident many folks love all the trash advertising, but I do not.

Up until I was stupid enough to download Vista service pack II, which deleted all other restore points I was very content with Windows LiveMail V2008 12.0.1606. This version is still present on my computer and was functional.

How can I rid myself of the current version and return to V2008.

I use my internet mail as a critical part of my online business. If I am forced to tolerate this current mail syatem, I will be pleased to seek an alternate form of delivery.

Ken, all free Hotmail accounts have advertising banners on their account page. Windows Live Hotmail doesn’t have the option to remove these. Though there are some third party applications or programs that may remove them, we don’t provide support to them.

To address your concern on Windows Live Mail, please contact their support team. Follow the steps below to get in touch with them:

1. Visit http://help.live.com/help.aspx?project=wl_mailv2&market=en-us
2. Select a topic from the choices at the left side of the page.  If the topic does not fit to your problem go to the third step.
3. Select Get more help link located at the lower-right corner.
4. Click Get support link.

The ads on the right side of Hotmail's pages can be COMPLETELY REMOVED!!
(For obvious reasons, the moderators in these forums will tell you that the ads cannot be removed from the free version of Hotmail and will provide alternative email solutions, but will not tell you about the following solution ... which allows you to continue using the free Hotmail service with the ads completely removed).
 

First, install the Firefox browser, and make it your default.

 

Then, install the extension to Firefox called Greasemonkey (this will allow scripts to be run within Firefox).

 

Finally, install the specialized script that will remove all ads from Hotmail and reuse the space vacated by the ads.
