can someone please help me by advising how do i go about retrieving the reset password from my currently locked hotmail a/c??

kindly refer to the following issue i have :

my windows live id keeps defaulting to my hotmail add. (ie. keeps sending the 'reset' password to hotmail).  it doesn't accept an alternative email add.  because the 'new/reset' password keeps getting sent to my '{removed email address}' add. i am completely locked out of my a/c that has 20+ yrs of saved emails and contact.

is there a way to retrieve the reset/new password from the hotmail a/c ({removed email address}) and send same to an alternative address ({removed email address}) so i can try signing in again to my hotmail a/c.

please, if someone can assist me by emailing me a solution to my gmail a/c ({removed email address}) that will be very much appreciated.  due to this little problem i can't access my msn either.

hi jamin, this happend to my wifes account so the best way to go about re-setting your,e  password is to go onto this address it helped my wife and she got her hotmail account back, her account had been compromised(hacked into) she tried everything to re-gain access to her account..(ie) tried to change her password,.but she couldn,t and found out the hacker had changed her password & secuirity question.she has access now to her hotmail account again...a windowslvie represtenitve gave me this link to follow,..and press on the bit whetre it says i can,t sign into my hotmail,..if that doe,snt help then there is windows support you can email on there..hope this helps

thank you for your help.  only problem is when i go to the page via https://help.live.com/help.aspx?project=liveidv1&market=en-us   the page takes forever to load up.  infact, it just freezes on loading up the page.

only topics visible on the left panel are faq and table of contents.  the right panel is completely blank.  there's not even a "get more help" option at the bottom right of the screen.  =( 

is there a way to bypass steps 1 & 2??

1. Click on the link beside Windows Live ID
2. Check out the topics on the Windows Live ID and Account Management Help
3. If you can’t find anything related to your issue, click Get more help at the lower-right corner of the window
4. Click Get support to contact the Windows Live Technical Support
5. Complete the e-form and then, click Submit.

thank you very much for your guidance.  the step by step instruction certainly helped me.  there weren't any topics that related to my issue so i ended up submitting the e-form to windows live technical support. 

now, i hope they can help me out.  fingers crossed.

i'll keep you posted on the progress of things.  once again, thank you for your help in leading me to them.

glad i could help, but im now having a problem of my own i keep getting a request to re-set my password had about 5 of these requests so far , have already done this but the password request was for my wifes hotmail acount, which she had hacked, she has control of her hotmail account again,..and wants to say thank you so much for the support from windows live for re-gaining her hotmail account again,..but im getting a messge saying re-set password request which i haven,t asked for but its seems to be saying set your,e windows live password not set your,e windows live id password..is there a differnce!..;just thought id bring this to your,e attention windows live..

It looks like you need to get in touch with the Windows Live Technical Support Team again. Since your concern is still related to Windows Live ID, they are the best team to address your inquiry.

i've attempted to follow anwar's suggestion but to no avail.  

i've also submitted to the windows live id validation team with the following support ticket number 1115954653 on november 3rd and yet till this day have not heard from them nor been given any assistance to reset my password.  thought i would receive some response by now considering its a 24 hour turnaround system.

can you please, please help me retrieve and/or resent my hotmail a/c.  unfortunately, i'm very desperate to have this a/c up and running again.  clearly there should be a solution to this problem and/or you will be able to reset my password on my behalf.

As much as we want to help you here in Windows Live Hotmail, only the Windows Live ID Team can address your concern. I suggest that you wait a little longer for their reply. It’s possible that they’re handling customers that wrote before you.

sorry your,e still having problems re-gaining your,e password, think it may take a little time as windows live team seem bogged under at the moment with so many different requests from people, and im sure they are trying there very best to get your,e issue sorted, must be hard for them too jasim, hopfully you,ll get your,e account back soon,..fingers crossed,

thank you windows live and anwar.  however, do you know roughly how long (ie. months) i'll have to wait?  and does it normally take this long?  thanks.... i'm just a little anxious to get back my hotmail a/c.

Usually it only takes within 24 hours to receive an email from them but it will depend on the complexity of your issue.
