    Error Code 85ae001d for Windows Live Messenger

    Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution for it?  I uninstalled and re-installed WLM and that did not solve the problem.  I also tried several suggestions offered by Microsoft and those didn't work either :-(  

    (using windows live messenger 14) [the newest one] and am operating under Windows 7)

    Any suggestons would be much appreciated.  Thanks in advance!

    I'm dealing with this problem too and can't reach my msn messenger...

    I'm having this same problem, but I noticed something weird. My friend logged in on his MSN on my computer and it worked the first time, like normal. That means that it's only happening on MY login, which is frustrating, to say the least.

    same problem here too....... uninstalled and reinstalled many times already.....

    but still dont work..... tried to research again and again..... but no one have solve the problem.....

    please help.....

     

    just tried to log in msn via my iphone, and it's working...... but still can't log in with my computer.....

    Same here, problem started since this afternoon at around 2 pm CST. Tried uninstall and reinstall and didn't work. Can anyone help?

    btw I'm using Bitdefender as my antivirus software and firewall.

    This issue is an issue outside of your own system and essentially nothing but time (letting WLM team do their thing) can fix it.

    It's a server side error/issue and being as it's not global and isolated the Live team is likely not breaking themselves over this error due to priority.

    Give it a few and it'll clear up. I promise.

    Same problem...after updating Windows Live Messenger I am no longer able sign-in, all I get is Error Code 85ae001d and "try again later" with no improvement.  Anybody got a solution?  tia Gary

    I have the same problem for one day and the weird is that i can log in in messenger using another email and i also can log in to my email in hotmal but not in messenger.I think its a problem of microsoft that are gonna solve hopefully.I can advise you that you can log in normally using ebuddy, give it a try temporally if you want to speak to your contacts.

    Having the same problem!!

    Nothing online has helped!

    Is there anything i can do? Or will it just start working again?

    Same issue here. I can sign on with same email address from my mobile phone and from the web messenger. Have had the new messenger as soon as it came out, today is first problem, been out for like 6-7 hrs now. Microsoft and others are doing their best to break my internet obsession, hope I get fed up eventually lol.
