Hi am really in need for some help!!!! Well I got a new cell phone and it has windows live, my cell phone is running windows mobile 6.1 and it is a Motorola q9c. Went I sync my windows live to my hotmail account it downloaded all my contacts to my phone witch it was cool but it deleted all my contacts from my list at hotmail and at the same time deleting them from my msn messenger. How can I transfer them back to my hotmail account??? I got a back up in myphone.microsoft.com of all my contacts. Thanks for the help.

Unable to clean up duplicates

I always get a " Your contacts are temporarily unavailable." message when I try to clean up duplicate contacts.

I havge largely ignored this for several months but would like to get contacts cleaned up. I have tried the suggestions found in the forum (clear browser, different browsers, different PC's) but no change.

I have over 900 contacts because months ago I inadvertently imported contacts twice. I can export contacts now but not import or clean duplicates.

Suggestions?

Imported CSV file -only imported 1 contact!

I exported from my previous email provider my contacts into a csv folder- have not edited the file in any way- yet when I go to import them into Hotmail it only imports 1 of all of my contacts. I have tried this several times without success.

Please help me recover my hotmail contact list!

My account was affected by the Neowin "leak" which is why it ended up closed. If I don't get it back it's no big deal but I really, really need my contact list back! After reading other posts I think it's possible to recover my contact list with my email and 3 emails from my contact list. So here we go: my (hacked) email is {removed email address} and some of my contacts are: {removed email address} {removed email address} {removed email address} {removed email address}

Hi, Could you please help. My hotmail/MSN has been hijacked. Suddenly everyone on my address book received the below mail from my account. All my hotmail contacts have disappeared from my address book and from Windows Live Messenger.I have Mcafee which was useless here. How can I recover my address book and how can I protect myself from this happeneing again?

I posted another message in the accounts and passwords bit. All my contacts have been wiped by a stupid spam virus. Do I need to post 3 contacts for this to be recovered?? (I've been reading some of the other posts).

And if I recover these contacts - will the virus continue to send them spam in my name??

hello,

last night i loged on msn from my windows mobile for the first time and while setting windows live on my phone i selected store my email contacts in my phone. What i did not realise when i reconfigured msn on my phone and removed the contacts from my phone contacts was that my hotmail contacts were all gone even from windows live mail program.

can u help me retrieve all my contacts back please?

New Category with new contacts

I have some new contacts in my contact list and I'm trying to create a new category for them. When I get all the email addresses entered in and try to "save" it says they must first be added as contacts. Well, I have sent all these new contacts an email and hotmail asked after the email was sent if I wanted to add them as new contacts and I said yes. They now show up in my contact list but I am still not able to create a category with these new people. What now?

Blocked contacts

Two of my contacts appear to be blocked. None of the emails they have sent me over the past few weeks have got through. I'm not sure if I have blocked them myself but I certainly can't work out how to unblock them!! Clearly I am a computer idiot!

Any ideas?

Every once and a while I receive an email and want to forward it on to someone that is not part of my contact list. I do not wish to add them to my contact list for personal reasons which is not a problem but when I go to send an email to anyone after that point, I hit a key stroke in the SEND TO: portion and up comes the email address that i did not want to have remembered as an option for who to send the email too along with a few others. How do I stop hotmail from remembering email addresses that i have sent previously so they dont pop up when I'm sending emails later?

Today I discovered that my account had been hijacked and an e-mail had been sent from my account to my whole address list. I went to send an e-mail to my whole list to explain that I did NOT send the first e-mail and I discovered that my contact list was empty. If I type an "a" for example my contacts beginning with "a" appear, but there seems to be no central contact list. Can anything be done?

Import Windows Mail contact groups into Windows Live Mail

Hey everyone. I have been on a mission to solve this problem. I've been seeking out and posting on several MS/tech/computer support forums looking for an answer. I've also spent quite a bit of time googling for a solution on my own. So far I have come up empty handed.

My situtaiton and problem is as follows:

I'm working in a small office where we have some computers running Windows Vista and using Windows Mail (version 6.0.6000.16388). We have hundreds of contacts and a couple of contact groups on these computer.

A few months ago we got two new computers which are using Windows XP and Windows Live Mail (version 2009, build 14.0.8089.0726). Other computers in the office still have Vista and the other version of Windows Mail.

I have been able to export our hundreds of contacts and import them into Windows Live Mail so the new computers have all of the contacts... however I was unable to find a way to import the groups.

These groups are all very large and consist mostly/entirely out of contacts which don't have individual contact entries.

I have been googling to find a solution to this problem. The closest page I could find was this one:

I was very discouraged when I saw the big red warning near the top of the page:

In Contact Groups from Vista, only the contacts that are also included as normal Contacts will be imported into Windows Live Mail. Contacts that were created for the Contact Group only will not be imported into Windows Live Mail. You will need to write these down and manually add them back into Windows Live Mail.

This pretty much described my situtation exactly, but manually going through all the groups, writing down all the contacts, then manually importing into two separate machines would take forever and is simply not an option.

Is there really no other way I can get these groups into Windows Live Mail?

I find it extremely hard to believe that this basic (or at least it should be basic) task is simply IMPOSSIBLE to do, but that seems to be the only response I've been getting so far.

Another thing is that I have several years computer programming experience, so if there really is no way to do this with existing tools, I don't mind writing my own tool, but in order to do so I'd need file format details of both the old Windows Mail *.group files and the Windows Live Mail monolithic contact file. I have been unable to dig up any information on either of them.

Can anybody point me in the right direction here? Thanks so much

Incorrect e-maill address when someone replies to my e-mail

Several people have told me that "{removed email address}" shows up in the "to" address field when they send a reply to my e-mail message. I have tested this by sending an e-mail to myself at work from my msn account. When I hit reply, the address above appears in the "to" field instead of my msn.com e-mail address. Why is this happening? How can this be fixed?

When I try to export or print contacts, I get the following message after entering the 8 character code: Windows Live Hotmail wasn't able to complete this request. Microsoft may contact you about any issues you report.

It appears that I can't import my addess book from my Mozilla email account. Why? Also, I much prefer the streamlined, user-friendly, uncluttered Mozilla email; is there anyway possible to run my hotmail account through a browser other than MS?

recover deleted windows live contacts

hey everybody, i have a really big problem and i need someone to help me fix it. the problem is that i accidentally synchronized my cellphone with my windows live account, and somehow it happened that i deleted every single one of the contacts in my contact list and also from my windows live messenger list.

i'm really desperate because i really need those contacts, and i need all of them, not just the ones i emailed with recently. if there is a possibility to restore those contacts, then please help me out of this mess, as i said, i'm really desperate...

What has happened to my hotmail account? I don't have access to my old account and I have plenty of info I HAVE TO HAVE in order to access addresses and emails. Give it back. I didn't ask for this stupid Live mail. I was perfectly happy with what I had and all the records I had on it. Explain why you don't tell people what you are going to do and let them have an option as to what they want to do. You must be all brain dead, just like Congress. They don't listento anyone either and just do what they want. But then that's Bill Gates, he's a Liberal donkey too.
