Hi

Am assuming it is because of a virus, but this morning all aspects of hotmail and messenger were working fine. This afternoon, everything is gone. Messages in inbox, contact list and all messenger contacts.

Can I get any of these back? What do I need to do to prevent this happening again? I have run a virus scan on my computer, but believe it happened on a different computer. Yesterday, everyone in my contact list received an email from me that I did not send. Do I need a new email address etc? How can i be sure the problem has gone away?

taintedbutterfly75, I was able to restore some messages on your account. I moved them back to your Inbox so you can review them. If the messages you need are not included , it means that they’re already purged. Also, some messages that you purposely deleted may have been included in the restoration.

To retrieve your contacts, please post at least 3 email addresses deleted from your account. We need them for verification purpose.

I experienced exactly the same problem as taintedbutterfly75 yesterday.

Can you please try and help me get my missing emails, hotmail contacts and msn contacts restored. 

3 emails address from my contacts list are:

I really hope you can help as there is no other way of me gettin some of those contact addresses again.

I have already completed a Malware scan and clean and changed my password.

I’ve managed to recover your contacts and sent them to your account. The subject of the e-mail is recovered contacts.

I’ve also recovered your deleted messages and they are now in your Deleted folder.

Hi I also have had the same problem and are in a panic about some emails and contacts i ca't necessarily get easily again. I logged on this morning and no problems and then again tonight and everything is gone (emails and contacts)

You may now check your Deleted folder for the e-mails that I’ve recovered.

I’ve already sent your contacts to your account. Please check your inbox for the e-mail with lost contacts as a subject.
