More information for you: I've just discovered that as of sometime this morning, I can no longer receive emails from my father whose address is {removed email address}. Again, I receive nothing and he receives no failure report at all - the email disappears into a black hole. His address is in my safe senders list and is not blocked. It fails whether starting with a fresh email or replying to one of mine. Yesterday, emails arrived from him no problem. Neither of us have changed anything on our pc's.
He usually uses Microsoft Outlook for his email and has two accounts setup on the same domain: his own, {removed email address} and one for his wife, {removed email address}
He also has the option of using a web-based email client (webmail) for the same accounts.
I have a test email account {removed email address} and this account receives emails from him no problem. I also have a yahoo account that receives emails from him.
We have tried all sorts of combinations. The results of our testing are as follows:
1) sending from "roly" using outlook to my normal hotmail - FAIL.
2) sending from "carol" using outlook to my hotmail - SUCCESS.
3) sending from "roly" using outlook to my test hotmail - SUCCESS.
4) sending from "roly" using outlook to my yahoo - SUCCESS.
5) sending from "roly" using webmail to my normal hotmail - SUCCESS.
As you can see, it can't be a fault with my father's ISP (France Telecom) because emails arrive from Carol. It can't be a general hotmail filtering rule because emails arrive to my test hotmail account. It can't be the sending email domain because emails arrive from Carol. It can't be my hotmail security settings because emails arrive from Roly when he uses the webmail client.
I'm totally baffled by this one. Is it possible that something is blocking his emails on my hotmail account, perhaps as a result of the problems with the other sender I dsecribed yesterday? It seems a massive coincidence for the problem to begin with my father's account the day after I report the problem with Joanne's account.
Please try to shed some light on this. I can't afford to not receive emails without failure reports being generated for the sender.
