I have been writing back and forth to my friend to her MSN account for years with no problems.  In July I installed the new Windows Live program.  She and 2 others that were in my hotmail contact list were automatically made messenger contacts..altho I would not have chosen 2 of them!!!!

Anyway, since I installed the program, I can receive her emails but she has gotten none from me when I either reply, forward or write a new email to her.  I haven't tried the other 2 that were automatically made "messenger friends" because they were not friends.

I don't like using the messenger and feel it is a waste of time.  I prefer to use my hotmail directly from the hotmail inbox.  I finally went in and deleted her from my contact list in both hotmail and also the windows messenger.  I want to add her back to my hotmail contact list but where else can i look.  I didn't block her and I am still in her contact list as usual.  What happened?????.

If you’re unable to receive e-mails from your friend, make sure that the following filters aren’t contributing to this issue:

If she’s the one who’s not getting your messages, I suggest that you contact your recipients through other means and ask them to check their account’s filters. This is to ensure that your messages are not being affected by any of your recipients’ account filters.

If you want to add your contacts to your address book, please follow the steps below:

1. Sign in to the Windows Live Hotmail website with your Windows Live ID.
2. In the left pane, click Contact list.
3. On the Action bar, click New.
4. Enter the details about your new contact, and then click Save.
